[caption id="attachment_64" align="alignnone" width="204" caption="Garden Party for Kids"]Garden Party for Kids[/caption]Kitchen Angels’ held a birthday party and christening garden party in Berkshire last Sunday. The children were happy to jump up and down in the bouncy castle.
The Personal Chef prepared all the party food and cooked the BBQ. There were choices of venison, sardines, burgers, hotdogs with lettuce, tomatoes, onions for the salad. Parents had a great outdoor party while the kids were busy enjoying the nice weather.

Desserts

APPLE AND RICE PUDDING STACK
1 Cooking Apple, cored and sliced
Dash Lemon Juice
3 Tbsp Honey
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
Grated zest of 1 lemon
4oz pudding rice
2fl oz rice milk
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of grated ginger

1. Glaze a sliced apple with the lemon juice and honey and simmer in a shallow pan lined with the olive oil for 20mins until brown
2. Add the grated lemon zest, cinnamon and ginger
3. Meanwhile, cook the pudding rice in the rice milk until all the rice milk has been absorbed and the rice is soft.
4. Stack thesliced apple on the plate, alternating with a layer of the rice pudding, making sure you put a spoonful where the apple used to be.

APPLE SORBET
Serves 1

Cooking Apple, grated
500ml (16fl oz) water
dash of lemon juice
3 tbsp honey
pinch of cinnamon

1. Mix the grated apple with the lemon juice, honey and cinnamon
2. Add it to the water and place inside a sorbet dish
3. Freeze for 3hrs and serve

BACON, RED ONION AND LEEK SALAD
Serves 1

2 Rashers of Bacon, chopped
1/2 Onion, chopped
1 Leek, sliced
1 Clove Garlic, crushed
Handful of Tarragon
1 Fresh Lettuce
Dash of Lemon Juice and a Little Honey

1 Sweat the bacon with the chopped onion and leek in a pan lined with olive oil
2 Add the Crushed Garlic
3 When the bacon is brown, add the chopped tarragon and mix it all up
4 Create a bed of lettuce on your plate then spoon the bacon mixture onto the top
5 Take the bacon fat in the pan back to the heat, add a dash of lemon juice and honey to thicken and use this as a tasty dressing
6 Pour onto the salad and serve

Kitchen Angels has committed one day to create tasty menu for a family diagnosed with allergies listed below:

Kate – Mother
Allergic to yeast(so every fruit she eats must be fresh), wheat, dairy, chocolate, all fruits except apples, potatoes, animal products like beef and pork, egg and sugar. She is intolerant to soya, and has multiple chemical sensitivity.

Marie – 15-yr old Daughter
Allergic to wheat, dairy, some nuts, cocoa, chocolate, salicylates and some fruits. Sensitive to sugar and food additives, and showing signs of multiple chemical sensitivity.

Emma – 8-yr old Daughter
Allergic to wheat, dairy, food additives, some nuts, cocoa, chocolate, some fruits and sensitive to sugar.

The Special Diet
It is evident that it is nearly impossible to have a teatime to look forward to when diagnosed with these allergies. For years, the typical family dinner has always been Boiled Rice with Fried Spinach and Garlic.

It was with great enthusiasm that the Kitchen Angels’ Personal Chefs took on the challenge to prepare a gourmet meal for the family. Personal Chef Hassen Guerroudj designed the 5-star Gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free special menu as follows:

STARTERS
Bacon, Red Onion and Leek Salad
Cucumber and Coriander Soup

MAINS
Chicken and Basil with Rice
Chicken and Prawn Paella

DESSERTS
Apple and Rice Pudding Stack
Apple Sorbet

THE VERDICT
Kate: “There was still quite a lot here that I couldn’t really eat but I did enjoy the chicken, basil and rice dish and the apple stack. Fresh herbs are great to use at home.

Marie:
“I ate the bacon salad by myself and I enjoyed mucking-in in the kitchen with the chefs – the soup was fun to make. The apple stack was my favourite dessert”.

Emma:
“I liked the two main meals best and the sorbet for dessert was yummy.”

BBQ Party in Thatcham Berkshire

Kitchen Angels held a BBQ Party for 200 people for James’ 18th Birthday Party in Thatcham, Berkshire.
With the Gazebo set in the center of the garden, the BBQ sizzled all night from 7pm to 1AM.
The Personal Chefs prepared Chicken Fillets in Plain, Cajun and Tandoori flavors. There’s also the smokey Hog Roast perfectly roasted for everyone to enjoy. The Mains were coupled with Potato Salad, Coleslaw and Mediterranean Rice.
